This vegetable broth makes the perfect base for your favorite soup recipes. It is easy to make and requires very little preparation. It stores well and freezes even better. While you can purchase pre-made vegetable broth from the store, it is well worth it to make your own.

Homemade vs. Store Bought Vegetable Broth

Store-bought vegetable broth can contain many additives and an unnecessary amount of sodium. Flavorful Vegetable Broth

Easy homemade vegetable broth, that makes a perfect base for your favorite soups.

Cook Time 30 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 yellow onion quartered, with skins
  • 2 carrots cut into thirds
  • 2 celery sticks cut into thirds
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or oregano
  • 10-15 peppercorns

Instructions
 

  • Add all of the ingredients into a pot, fill with water, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Reduce heat to medium and continue to boil for 30 minutes.
  • Drain the vegetables from the broth and either use immediately or store in the refrigerator or freezer.
